More of Swiss Days

Okay so there is a story behind this picture... My mother had seen this big picture of fall leaves last year and decided to have her son make it instead of spending the money on it. Well, that never happened so her quest, okay our quest this year was to find that same vendor so she could buy her picture. We found the booth and she purchased her picture. We had come down from the campground in a ford focus and it isn't a big car. so in order to get the picture the 3 girls in the back had to put it through both windows and their heads were barley above it. We got some pretty good stares and we were praying we wouldn't get hit cause it would cut their heads off!! We made it to the campground safely
Mom relaxing after a long day of shopping! Every year we come the night before Swiss Day's opens and set up our chairs so we can rest and people watch.. Thats fun!

Shelby's first day of school!

Shelby had a great first day! She loves her teacher Mrs. Belliston and all the kids in her class! I was a little sad ,as she is my last to go off to school but, when i got home and had the house all to myself i thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet. When i picked her up she was so happy, not to see me but her dog!!!! They have become best buds and really missed each other!! On the way home from school she told me how her and Grandpa had been counting the weeks for school to start and that he missed her first day.. We had a little talk and i assured her that he was watching over her and would always be by her side in spirit!!

Shelby has to wait a week for kindergarten.

Shelby and I went to meet her teacher today and do a little testing. She did very well! She gets to start school on the 25Th. It's always so hard for the kids to start a week later then everyone else, but it gives Shelby and I time to spend together!

Back to School !!

Madison is in the 5Th grade! She had a fun first day!

Dakota is in the 2ND grade. He loves to go to school! :)

Getting ready to leave the house! Yeah!!

It's always nice to get the kids back in school! By the end of the summer they are running out of things to keep them occupied! I Enjoy the break too!

Dakota and his Grandpa

Dakota had a very hard time at the cemetery! He loved his Grandpa so much! This picture of he and grandpa shows the love they had for each other. What a joy it was to have him live with us and to share each day as a family together! We will cherish those sweet memories for ever!

Dad's Funeral August 9,2008

Dad loved Baseball and what better way to show respect to him then to have those son's and Grandson's carry him to his final resting place with Rockie baseball caps on!

John A Elegante Born January 15,1933 - Died August 4,2008

John's father past away on August 4Th. We are all very sad and miss him so much, but we know that he is in heaven with his family that has passed before him. He was such a loving father, Grandfather and the best father-in-law in the whole world! He truly had a heart of gold! He suffered for 5years with prostrate cancer. He was always so positive and gave it everything he had!

We are going to miss him and think about him everyday! The kids are having a difficult time not only because he was their Grandpa but because he was always there for them , always being their cheerleader in everything they did!! He loved it when Madison would come home from a soccer game and would give him every detail of the game or, Dakota showing what he learned in his karate class! He enjoyed watching Shelby color for hours at the table where he sat. And Jordan, Always making sure he made it to his scouting trips. He took a trip to Denver last summer with Jordan and they went to a Rockies baseball game. He hasn't stopped talking about that!! Dad was always there for John and I!

We Love you daddy!!
