It's GREAT to be EIGHT!

Shelby was baptized by her big brother Jordan on November 6th. This was a very exciting day for everyone! We are so proud of Shelby for making the decision to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. She will be an amazing member and we look forward to her growing Strong in the church. We were so thrilled that Jordan wanted to baptize her and did an amazing job,, in fact while he was baptizing her I couldn't help but think of his mission coming up in 1 and a half years and it brought tears to my eyes! Amazing day for both of them!

We all look like we are on death row! LOL

Shelby was confirmed that same day by her Grandfather Dan! So proud of my baby girl! Hard to believe she is the last one. They grow so fast!! Love you Shelby Jean Marie:)

Football!

As Dakota would say FUTBALL! Dak is playing for the Orem Tigers tackle football team and LOVES it! He was born to play Futball!

He has had 5 games and only lost one. they are on track for the number 2 seed in the tournament!
We have all learned a little bit about the game and cheer the team on every Saturday

They practice 3 days a week for 2 hrs each day! Dakota comes home Hungry, hot and sweaty!

Sometimes we get little scared when he gets thrown on the ground and he has been carried off the field a few times but he is a trooper and gets back into the game as soon as he can!
Good Job Dakota! We are so proud of you!

Goodbye Sweet Cola!

December 17,2005-September 19,2010

Cola passed away last night in John's arms peacefully! He was so kind, loving and very protective of his family. We enjoyed the short years we had him. We have wonderful memories of Cola and we will cherish them always. We were sad to see him go but, we know that he is no longer in pain. It's always heart wrenching to see your children go through loosing a pet, the memories are still so fresh. Shelby stayed home with mom today and they comforted each other. We love you Cola and you will be in our hearts forever! Rest in peace our little one.

Adam's Canyon

Adam's Canyon is located on the East Bench of Layton. You start hiking up a steep incline in SAND! I must say that was the hardest part of the hike. Soon you wrap around a hill and head straight into the mountain, where we found shade and cool temperatures! This is the most beautiful hike I have been on! There was so much to look at, it was the perfect day in every way!

This is a common picture of Karen and I being that we hike every Wednesday and Saturday together! We have been having so much fun together and we are looking forward to reaching our goals by the summers end!
My Mom has never been on a hike in her whole life, so we brought her along for her very first adventure. Shelley said we are never going to be invited for a weekend and her house because, this was not on the agenda! Guess what? She is just as addicted to hiking as we are and we have already planned an over night hike for the 5Th of August!! Derek is a pro at hiking and had no problems, he even helped us over the rocks and through the sand!!

I love this picture of Shelley, you can't tell me she wasn't having fun!!

Mom was having a hard time going down so Derek held on to her as if she was on a dog leash, we laughed about this for hours!!

The river was so awesome, It was so peaceful and relaxing! I could sit by it for hours.

Love this picture of my mom's face!!! She was like wait, I want to be in this one!!!

Finally making it back to the car!! This was a big accomplishment for my Mom and sister Shelley! So proud of them!!

Braces!

So, we finally made it to the day Madi has been waiting for! BRACES!! Little did she know what she was in for!

How come they didn't have this device when I got mine on? This made for a very fast placement of her braces!
I love this picture, because i told her to smile and it really looks like she is trying to, lol she must think I'm the most embarrassing mother but, i don't care I thought it was fun!!

She picked red and blue bands and on the way home I had to laugh because she was looking in the mirror and Say's " I should have picked bands that accented my eye's!! Who thinks like that?? So funny.. Today she is on ibuprofen and not eating much and a little cranky but, this will pass in a few days and she will get used to them..

This statue is my Great, Great, Great Grandfather who was one of the men that Brigham Young sent to settle Dixie! It was fun to see this large 7 foot statue and I'm so glad my children were able to see him too!! Got to love Genealogy!!!

Hiking the "Y"

Here we are at the beginning of the entrance to the "Y" mountain! I went to bed Sunday night filled with anxiety about this hike we were about to go on, I layed awake all night trying to tell myself that I could do it and when it came time to really head up that trail i was so scared! I didn't want my children see me fail!!

I was a little nervous that John was not with us because I knew I could only help myself at this point make it to the top. I didn't worry about Madi and Marisa, i knew they could do it, it was more Shelby and Dakota i worried about. This might sound a little crazy but i told them they couldn't hang on me or I'd never make it!! Shelby walked up like it was just a walk in the park, Dakota struggled about half way but, he and I had a talk and we put on our brave faces and kept moving!

When we finally arrived at the top, i just wanted to cry! I made it, I made it!!! I would never have been able to do this had i not had the support of my sisters and my kids! My sisters helped with my kids and i am so thankful!!

The kids and I at the top! All of us so happy to have made it! It's not a long hike, but straight up and going down was a challenge!

Shelby and I hiking the last stretch:) We all had a blast and want to do it again soon! Karen and I have made plans to hike Timp at the end of summer. I better get loosing those last 40 lbs:)

Me and 3 of my cute amazing sisters, Julie, Shari and Karen! We missed you Shelley!

End of School Programs

Shelby had her graduation from 1st grade today! I enjoyed their program. They had planned to have a picnic in the park after but we had a huge snow storm so we had the picnic in her room! It was fun to spend some time with my sweet Shelby!
Shari with some of shelby's friends!

Doing a little dance to their song! This was my favorite:)

Getting ready for the big program, i think they were very nervous! They did a fantastic job! Now, on to 2nd grade!!!

Madi participated in a 2 month program called NOVA, it used to be called DARE. They learned a lot about drugs and other important things like how to pick good friends and to be good examples to others around. This is Madi getting her certificate for finishing the program. So proud of you Madi and for the great good choices you make.

Dakota had to make a simple machine, he and his dad made a crane with a pulley and magnets. Here he is demonstrating his machine! He worked very hard on this and I'm so proud of him!

The fourth grade student always put on a recorder concert for all the parents, they have worked on their songs all year! Always a great program!!!
